Q: What materials do you use to make your products?

A: All of our items are 3D printed using premium PLA (Polylactic Acid) or PETG (Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol) filament. PLA is a durable, plant-based bioplastic known for its high quality and vibrant colors. PETG offers the strength, flexibility, and heat resistance of tougher plastics. 

Q: How do I care for my 3D printed items?

A: To keep your items looking their best, avoid exposing them to extreme heat (like leaving them in a hot car or in direct, scorching sunlight), as PLA can warp at high temperatures. The maximum safe temperature for PLA is 50 degrees Celsius. The maximum safe temperature for PETG is 70 degrees Celsius. For items like our soap holders or planters, simply hand wash them with lukewarm, soapy water. Please note that our products are not dishwasher or microwave safe.

Q: Are your children's toys and games safe?

A: Yes! We use non-toxic PLA for all of our children's games and toys. However, as with any toy, adult supervision is recommended, and we advise checking individual product descriptions for specific age recommendations or small parts warnings.

Q: Are your planters watertight?

A: While 3D printed items are tightly constructed, they can be naturally porous. We design our planters to be highly water-resistant, but we recommend using a plastic liner or nursery pot inside to prevent any slow seeping onto your furniture.

Shipping & Orders

Q: How long will it take to receive my order?

A: Because many of our products are manufactured on-demand, please allow 3-5 business days for us to print and prepare your items. Many of our items are constructed of multiple parts, and require assembly using adhesives. Those adhesives require a minimum of 24-hours curing time prior to packaging, Once shipped, delivery times depend on your location and the carrier. You will receive a tracking number as soon as your package ships.

Q: Do you ship internationally, and who pays the customs fees?

A: Yes, we ship across North America! most of our products are exempt from duties and tariffs under the North American Free Trade agreement (CUSMA/USMCA). We make every attempt to ensure that our customs documents are clearly labeled so that customs officials don't make a mistake and reclassify an item inappropriately. While every attempt is made to ensure our Items clear customs duty free we cannot control what happens at the customs office and we also have no control over customs clearance fees upon arrival in your country. These charges vary by destination and are the responsibility of the customer.

Q: Do you accept returns or exchanges?

A: We want you to be completely satisfied with your new home decor and office organizers. We accept returns within 15-days of delivery, provided the items are in their original condition. Please note that buyers are responsible for return shipping costs. Custom or personalized items are final sale. All returns must be pre-approved with Blue Hills 3D Manufacturing.
